WorldChill Mapping

I stumbled upon something the Co-Cola co is using the web for that you may not have seen.

They know that we have weather maps, economic forecast maps, census maps, but so far not a map to guage attitudes...and general sense of well-being.

To this end, they have created WorldChill whereby tuned-in folks worldwide can create geo pinpoints on the world map and report the chill factor of their area or just your own personal frustration level. As in 'people are freaking out over there in Oakland' or 'those folks in Gulf Shores are so damn cool'.

I seem to be the first person to have established a Gulf Shores presence, but hey....it may be cool here, but it ain't techie ! See close-up of Mobile Bay--my glowing dot is on the lower right.

You can also download a real-time WorldChill screensaver to keep you abreast of the chill vs. freakout level of the world.

And if you click on Chilltext, you can make cool encrypted art-messages to send to your real chill friends. (Everyone I hang with can expect one from me soon)

I applaud this inventive use of the web. It is like a flashback to the early days of the web, before we started using it to make money....and creative minds (& programmers) put their energy into fun and games instead. Sorta like the 'Cool site of the day' times.

Wonder how much Coca-cola spent on this sleek little interactive app ? www.WorldChill.com

I thought I'd check out my areas "chill factor" and would'nt you know it; in order to see the map I have to download a newer version of software for mine is days old and won't work. I bet Big sister get's a kick back! Got to watch her folks, she is tricky. I'll try anything except when the first instruction step is "BUY NOW."
