Merchant of Venice



Recommended--and this is coming from 'The Cliff Notes Kid' ...yes it is adapted from Wm. Shakespeare and I didn't even know the story or anything about it beforehand. Made in 2002. Filmed in Venice and Europe.
Took me a few minutes to pickup on the storyline. I had to listen pretty closely. But I think both guys and girls would enjoy this if you are in the mood. Definately not just a chic flick love story, it has that but also a business story intertwined, and courtroom drama.

Oh, my, the architecture is breath-taking !!
Watch it, then see if you don't want to build a DAC-ART residence !!

One of the DVDs I got in Hudsons in Meridian, MS for 5 bucks. Rent it , but if you are the buying type, get it used thru my Amazon box on bottom of my www.mosaic-tile-design.com pages por favor !

Is this the "pound of flesh" story? Somehow got by without ever reading it, so would be good to watch. I try reading classics sometimes, but there's so much new stuff. Shakespeare is beautiful, but I'm never reading Dickens again. Who would, unless forced to? More into non-fiction lately, but sense a shift to mysteries coming for the winter.

Yes--this is the one, I didn't know where that phrase came from. Never thought about it before. In fact I heard several phrases that are in popular usage that probably came from this play.

Do You Know This Plant?

I photographed this small weeping shrub in Pensacola in a front yard. The purple flowers and orange berries were present at the same time on this georgous plant. The same yard had some of the same species but with white flowers that were not nearly as vibrant. It looked great in spite of a very dry summer and it is planted close to salt water. Miller's Birthday Today

Today would have been Miller's 26th B'Day. Here are some birthday photos from his 11th and his 15th birthday and a few others. In one he has on some of his Grandaddy's vintage Lily Pulitzer pants. In another he was so proud of the size of the catfish that he caught that he was holding the cat for size comparison. He only bleached his hair once. He walked into the room with the cat and put it on his head, but it didn't work out as planned and I always thought it was one of the funniest photos of him I ever took. Miller was the most brilliant, funny, charming, thoughtful, & loving person I have ever known. He was finishing up Grad School and had every pilot's certification possible for his age when he died. There is no telling what he would be doing today had he lived. We all miss him so.

Bottle Tree

Stephen showed up in his pickup with a great Christmas present. He made me a bottle tree. I have always wanted one, and now, especially, since I have lost so many trees from the storms. He planted it and we went straight to Bruno's and bought all the wine in cool bottles that we found. Immediately we began to ready the bottles for display, but only made it thru 2 or 3 so far. Won't it look great with the sun shining thru the colorful bottles ????
