Croc Crazy Here


Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is Croc crazy here.

Men, women, children, babies, doggies, cats,

This is the shoe of the moment.

I tried some on a couple months ago but with my two different sized feet (7 1/2 and 8 1/2 --polio at young age) the standard shoe just wasn't gonna work without me buying two pairs. (See all of y'all who thought I was just PERFECT, will now know, or be reminded that I have a few minor defects)

The Croc company is about to come out with a flip-flop version. The illustration is on the website--no price yet. I'll get those and buy one pair (split the size difference)

I see school kids, boys and girls, moms, teens, you-name-it wearing Crocs.....of course the mild climate here helps. Guys wear the guy-colors like drab.

We can sorta pull off open shoes year 'round--worn by those of us optimistic by nature. As in "once the sun comes out this day will warm up for sure".

We even have Croc knock-offs already...called Gators or something. Wonder how long any of them last? Seems like they are so soft them might wear away quickly.

A side note: for anyone interested in SEO, the Croc website description on Google SERPS says "checking for flash", that is a really great, grabbing tagline isn't it--NOT. I read where a Google engineer once made a joke about a Flash site and said something about the description being "loading, loading, loading...."

yes, they are comfortable, but they are still ugly. payless has their version for about half. i don't like to see men in them. i just don't think men & clogs go together. but that's just me.

i'm sticking with my clarks for the winter, and my hula print birks for the summer. and my son's outgrown mizuno slides. speaking of summer, can't wait.

I've seen many foolish women (in the landscape business here this summer)wearing them to do garden chores. Don't think OSHA would approve of them if they were in a gardening accident. Otherwise good air circulation if someone has toe fungus. Barb

Color Change Paint Job

I spotted another car with one of those awesome paint jobs that change colors are you drive past. I used to see one with a different set of hues parked in from of a local vinyl liner pool company here in Gulf Shores. This is what I'd like on my VW Thing, but I want coral and peach shades so it look like a woman's fingernail polish rack at the nail salon. Anyone know anything about this type of paint job ? What is it called ? What's it cost. Where do you go to get it ?

Miller's Birthday Today

Today would have been Miller's 26th B'Day. Here are some birthday photos from his 11th and his 15th birthday and a few others. In one he has on some of his Grandaddy's vintage Lily Pulitzer pants. In another he was so proud of the size of the catfish that he caught that he was holding the cat for size comparison. He only bleached his hair once. He walked into the room with the cat and put it on his head, but it didn't work out as planned and I always thought it was one of the funniest photos of him I ever took. Miller was the most brilliant, funny, charming, thoughtful, & loving person I have ever known. He was finishing up Grad School and had every pilot's certification possible for his age when he died. There is no telling what he would be doing today had he lived. We all miss him so.
